GHAZAL's Story
Ghazal Delavari is an Iranian ceramic artist whose work explores the quiet power of imperfection. While much of the visual world pursues symmetry and polished perfection, her practice moves in the opposite direction embracing irregularity, raw edges, and the subtle tension that makes a form feel alive. For her, imperfection is not a flaw but a language through which beauty becomes more honest and human.

She did not inherit the crown; it rose from her. A quiet sovereignty shaped through endurance, not display. Her body remembers what it means to stand, even when unseen.
Layers of blue oxide glaze settle gently across the sculpted surface, creating soft variations that evoke weathered metal, aged stone, and the quiet passage of time. Warm iron accents naturally emerge along the delicate edges, defining each fold while preserving the organic movement of the form.
The unglazed red stoneware base is intentionally left exposed, revealing the material in its purest state. Rather than concealing the clay, the piece celebrates its origin, allowing the raw earth and the transformed surface to exist in harmony. The dialogue between exposed clay, mineral glaze, and iron-touched edges reflects the balance between permanence and transformation.
Everything began with this piece.
It is the first sculpture of the collection and the foundation from which the entire series evolved. Its layered structure, flowing edges, and sense of quiet movement introduced the visual language that continues throughout the collection.
This work has been selected and reserved for the 1000 Vases exhibition in Paris on 22 October 2026, marking the beginning of the collection’s international journey.
The warmth of iron settles gently along each delicate edge, accentuating the movement of every hand-shaped layer. Rather than defining the form, the glaze quietly follows it, allowing the sculptural rhythm to remain the focus.
The exposed red stoneware at the base is intentionally preserved, revealing the clay in its purest state and honoring the material from which the piece was born. It is a reminder that transformation does not erase origin. The dialogue between raw earth, luminous glaze, and iron-kissed edges creates a balance between honesty and refinement.

Born by the southern of Iran- Bandar Abbas, where women carried clay vessels on their heads—steady, unheld, unquestioned. Balance was not learned, it was inherited. This form remembers the quiet strength of bodies that never dropped what the world placed upon them.
