The Origin

Everything began with this piece.

It is the first sculpture of the collection and the foundation from which the entire series evolved. Its layered structure, flowing edges, and sense of quiet movement introduced the visual language that continues throughout the collection.

Freckles

A study in restraint, this piece embraces simplicity through soft, flowing forms and a quiet, minimalist presence. Rather than relying on bold contrasts, it invites attention through subtle movement and balanced proportions.

Its delicate freckles are not decorative but a natural expression of the clay itself, giving the surface warmth, texture, and individuality. Each tiny mark celebrates the authenticity of the material, proving that the smallest details can leave the strongest impression.

Blue Oxide

Layers of blue oxide glaze settle gently across the sculpted surface, creating soft variations that evoke weathered metal, aged stone, and the quiet passage of time. Warm iron accents naturally emerge along the delicate edges, defining each fold while preserving the organic movement of the form.

The unglazed red stoneware base is intentionally left exposed, revealing the material in its purest state. Rather than concealing the clay, the piece celebrates its origin, allowing the raw earth and the transformed surface to exist in harmony. The dialogue between exposed clay, mineral glaze, and iron-touched edges reflects the balance between permanence and transformation.

Iron Kissed

The warmth of iron settles gently along each delicate edge, accentuating the movement of every hand-shaped layer. Rather than defining the form, the glaze quietly follows it, allowing the sculptural rhythm to remain the focus.

The exposed red stoneware at the base is intentionally preserved, revealing the clay in its purest state and honoring the material from which the piece was born. It is a reminder that transformation does not erase origin. The dialogue between raw earth, luminous glaze, and iron-kissed edges creates a balance between honesty and refinement.

Verdigris

A luminous green-blue glaze wraps the sculptural form in layers that recall the natural patina of aged copper. Subtle variations in tone and texture emerge through the firing process, allowing the surface to shift gently with changing light.

Rather than masking the hand-built form, the glaze enhances every fold and contour, revealing the quiet rhythm of each layered movement. Delicate iron-touched edges introduce warmth and definition, creating a subtle dialogue between earth, fire, and mineral. The exposed red stoneware base remains intentionally unglazed, grounding the piece in the honesty of its material and preserving the clay’s original identity..
